I much prefer exercising before work rather than after work. Sometimes it can be difficult to make myself get up early, but I find that placing my alarm over the other side of my bedroom (so I have to get out of bed to turn it off) works well.

I typically feel more energetic during the day if I've exercised that morning, and it frees up my time during the evenings so I can catch up with friends.

Thanks David!

This is so true - especially the part about 'the pain of discipline subsides with persistence' - one day you realise your bad old habits have gone and been replaced with positive news ones! Of course the only person who can do it is YOU; people can offer encouragement and support but only you can make the change - and that bald fact can be VERY frustrating when a loved one just keeps making excuses and chooses to stay fat and unfit ...

I totally agree. I too catch glances of these commercials and get so very frustrated! My knowledge is only part of yours David, but I get angry at how tv can take advantage of peoples ignorance when it comes to exercise and weight loss and/or health improvement...everyday, 100 times a day...whether it be with a wham-bam piece of equipment or a quick-fix diet...the ads get fired at viewers constantly!!

Wonderful! Thanks for solving that one for me David. It is something I have often wondered (and perhaps used as an excuse not to exercise. Shh!)

I really love the memorable phrase too.

Keep up the useful, well written articles. :)

Thanks for the feedback David. You are right about Darwin however hopefully it made the point and makes a difference. If you get to read my book I'd love to hear what you think.

Great stuff David, I totally agree. Do less, but do it harder. Save time, get more results.
